She licked Stephanie to the floor and took out the knife, before stabbing Stephanie in her shoulder. She hissed "I will haunt you till you want to die altogether."

(Let me try to explain. Elle is holding it firmly. That means the only thing Stephanie could grab was the blade, which would cut her, and no way she could fight through that pain, pull it out of her hand, and stab Elle using the same hand)
