glares at silver

i have been in fight with swans before, that how i got this scare on my face!

turn to her left and over her eye a white streak is there

"I know you've had bad experiences with swans," Silver said concernedly, indicating the scar over her eye. "I'm just afraid that if you keep going on like this you're going to get another one of those!" Knowing that Icegem was bound to erupt at any moment because of her interference, Silver cast around blindly for something to distract her. "Besides, I think . . . we should patrol the clan borders. I don't think a morning party has been sent yet."

grumbles

fine

"Now I've done it," Silver thought nervously. Resigning herself to a perpetually silent patrol, she followed a line of ash trees and maple saplings, heading towards the west-most border. She had been itching to prove herself useful in protecting the clan, and noting anything suspicious in the territory gave her a sense of achieving something tangible. Every tree stump was observed, and every moss-covered rock uncovered, while each rabbit hole was peered into with scrutiny. A few Shadowclan birds watched them around the northern border, but beyond that everything, to Silver's relief, seemed normal. The footprints of Daggerbeak were almost washed away, the boundary between Wingclan and Shadowlcan looked untrodden, and the owl tracks outside a rabbit hole looked fresh . . .

With a gasp, she backtracked and stared at the large footprint, three times the size of her own, with deep gouges left by talons larger than the briar thorns.

"Icegem?" Silver whispered, pointing silently towards the tracks. "Are these as fresh as I think they are?"

"An eagle?" Confused, she followed Icegem, though with a feeling of foreboding. "Something bigger than an owl?" The image of a monstrous beast, eyes gleaming and wingspan able to cover the entire distance between the nearest two trees was conjured in her mind, but it was too terrible to contemplate for long. She shook her head and followed the white hen running through the underbrush.

With wonder, Silver stared at the black flowers, just barely tickled by the incoming sunlight in the narrow gaps in the twigs. "They're beautiful!" she exclaimed in a whisper, touching the velvety softness with one of her wings. Those must have been the strange black plants she saw Thorntalon carry back to camp not a day ago, but this thought soon gave way to the immediate danger, and she peered up through the brambles with anxiousness, just waiting for giant clawed feet to tear through their safehouse.

An eagles cry ran through the forest, driving rodents underground to their dens. It cast a shadow across the ground as it flew

Prince rose at the sound, his pitch black eyes screening the sky, a rumbling hiss curled in the back of his throat.
