Gray held up his badge. "Hello, I'm Officer Cutter, this is Officer Gideon. Mind if we ask you a few questions about the other night?"

"Of course not," Mr. Beaks replied. "Come in."

Gray nodded and entered the little flat.

Mr. Beaks closed the door and showed the Officers to the main living room. "Can I get you anything? Tea? Coffee? Water?"

"No, thanks." Gray sat down on the sofa.

Mr. Beaks sat in his single comfy chair.
