Sandpiper found herself missing Kouprey. Where's he been? she thought. She shook her head, as if to scold herself; trotting off, she caught the scent of a deer and began to follow it.

Dove wanted to keep herself busy, but there was nothing to do. Kitty and Terri had been unresponsive for some time and she had almost gotten worried about them. She snacked on a hare and narrowed her eyes toward the woods. That Piper girl hadn't been doing her job as a scout and Dove, for some reason, felt herself close to responsible. She widened her ears to hear any sound possible.

Squirrel sniffed for Gerbil and Bee.

Hawk licked her paws, she had just finished a small piece of elk, the leftovers of the kill she made a week ago.

Dove pricked her ears even farther. Finally someone to talk to. "Hello Hawk," she greeted her, trotting over.

Sandpiper crawled on her belly towards the buck. He had a full rack, he was plump, and he was oblivious. Perfect.

A huge black wolf expoded out of the bushes and flung her to the ground before she could even call for help. His front paws wrapped around her jaws to prevent her from making a sounds and his jaws and back claws shredded her pelt, turning the snow red
