Meerkat came over and under Kouprey's orders, stayed by Sandpiper's side until Kouprey came back.

Sandpiper slowly awoke. Her mouth was painfully dry. "Food," she managed to whisper. "Water?"

Sandpiper squinted. "Kouprey?" she croaked, hoarsely. Then she coughed. It was a deep, wracking cough that came from deep within her chest.

"Yes?" whispered Kouprey "You'll be all right soon enough." Kouprey then took the water from Meerkat, who had just come back and gave it to Sandpiper, slowly, so as not to shock her.
