The trap was cold steel, but hidden carefully by leaves.

It was baited with an irresistible chunk of raw venison.

How could any meat-eater pass it up?

It didn't matter that the trap had been set for coyotes.

All that mattered was that a small brown she-wolf was trapped inside, dozing peacefully as a result of the sedative pill in the meat....

...and that a human had arrived to pick the trap up and carry it far away.

Larkpaw sat in the camp, bored out of her mind.
(no one talks to mine)

Zebra approached her. "Hello."

(I can't get rid of _, sshhh don't tell) Whatever happened to the monster lurking outside of Snowpack?

I paused it. We didn't have enough characters roleplaying to do it.

During his solitary hunt, Bear smelled a familiar musk lingering in the air, and stopped mid-gait. "Human," he hissed under his breath, the thick, black fur on his neck bristling. He set off to follow the trail that his keen nose had sensed.

Ripping through the foliage and flaying leaves about with his entrance, he came upon the scene of the human trailing off. With his tail puffed and his lip curled back to reveal his yellowed fangs, his snarl pierced the air.
