Seeing that people were coming, Alexander quickly slunk back into the waves, swimming out to a large rock that jutted out of the water. He hid behind it, and watched the horses on the shore.

Yuma coughed again and finally stood on all fours, wobbling and shaking like crazy. His palomino roan coat was sopping wet with water. Not even the intense heat of the summer sun could warm his soul once more.
