~◊~Thereby Hangs a Tail – RP~◊~

Rimy nimbly weaved back and forth through the trees and undergrowth, the others in the hunting party close behind. She glanced back, noting that Thistle was the closest to her and gave him a grin, excited about hunting as always, even though they weren't very successful of late, there wasn't much to hunt.

Back at camp, Virga sat atop the rotting trunk of a tree that had fallen the past winter, listening as birds sang in the foliage above. She was hard in thought about the shortage of game, trying to work out what to do, the territory of Silentwater and the prey that flocked to its lake, swimming in and out of her mind...

Hail stiffed the stocks of long grass, and bared his fangs is a low growl, "Wolves...". The scent was not what he had wanted, he wanted elk, dear, rabbit, anything! But no, that was not to be, this was just another day with little prospect of ending the hunger gnawing at his gut. He lifted his head, looking out over the grassland gently swaying in the cool breeze. Hail scent marked over the other wolves scent, wanting to make his presence known. He had only detected the scents of two young males in this pack, and the rest were females. That was a good thing for him, he had been a loner for a long time, and he wanted a pack.

Echo gazed at her Pack and they continued about their day. The food pile was small and many wolves hungry, but she couldn't complain. Rumors had hit that the other packs were suffering much worse then they. She rise to her paws and shook out her silver pelt. She would go down to the water to cool her mind.

Grizzly carefully watch the surface of the lake. Small fish swam through the shinning water. Soon one strayed close o the bank. He flashed out catching it with his paw and tossing it on the bank. A rare skill for a wolf but one that would allow him to survive.

North gazed at the food pile. His stomach growled and with that he growled at himself. He would let the older wolves and dominate ones eat first. He decided to get his mind of hunger and hunt. North walked out of camp, a slight limp in his step due to his splayed paw.

"Nothing, yet..." Rimy replied in the friendly manner, nimbly weaved back and forth through the trees and undergrowth. Frostwood:

Bramble shrugged, then stopped and sniffed the air "Deer, follow me." He said and trotted off, towards the tantalizing scent of prey.

Dalonige walked over to his mate, he rubbed his head against hers "Hey, how are you doing?" He asked lovingly.

Loners:

Venom looked at her warily, "You want my name? Then give me yours."
Loners:

Nightshade tilted her head, he had attitude, she kinda liked it, she then noticed his missing eye, she quickly looked at him as a whole again. "My name's Nightshade, what's yours?" She asked, putting on a little charm this time.

(They wouldn't really smile, you know. I mean, my dog smiles at me, but it's a submissive gesture to her Alpha. Because I am Alpha Gertrude!

Thistle wagged his tail and followed.

(It wouldn't be such a rare skill for a Silentwater wolf, since they live by a lake.)

Pitch lapped up some water from the lake. "Nice catch," he commented to Grizzly.

Frostwood:

Thistle raised his head and bounded after Bramble. Prey! Finally.

Loners:

Nightshade tilted her head, he had attitude, she kinda liked it, she then noticed his missing eye, she quickly looked at him as a whole again. "My name's Nightshade, what's yours?" She asked, putting on a little charm this time.

Loners:

Venom was slightly surprised at her change of tone. But that tone rarely ended poorly for him. "Venom."

Frostwood:

Bramble looked at the others "There it is, up ahead, a doe, this'll feed the pack for sure! " He whispered "Thistle and Rimy, you go around, I'll drive it towards you." Bramble said, glancing at the doe once more.

Nightshade looked around "Interesting name, what are you doing around here?" She asked kindly once more.

Thistle nodded and started off.

Loners:

"Hunting," Venom answered simply.

(yeah I thought about that after I submitted it. )

Grizzly jumped at the voice startled. He hadn't heard Pitch approach. "thanks, it's large enough to fill one wolf up."

North stalked over the ground. Ahead he saw a squirrel nibbling on a nut. He crouched and waited then sprang. His jaws missed by and inch and the squirrel darted away disappearing in the think undergrowth . " Drat" he growled cursing to himself.

Echo waded into getting water. She absolutely loved it. This was her place to relax. No wolves came here because the fish were to deep to catch. She could swim and clear her mind. (can there be a small waterfall at the lake?)
