Hi everybody. I need help. Our cousins in CT want to start an mini farm. They have 3 1/2 acres of land and want to get 20 hens (14 layers, 6 bantams) and 2 roosters. They have 2 dogs (1 chocolate lab, 1 black lab) to guard them, and a good, sturdy coop fit to house 28, so obviously they have enough room for more chickens. They asked me to help them decide what kind of chickens to get. So far for the standard size I have 1 Rhode Island Red, 1 Buff Orpington, and 1 Barred Rock. For the bantams I have nothing but a Silkie or two. Any ideas?
