☺ "Comm. black pullet"? (Not Sexlinks!) ✔Photo Update!✔

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but don't you get a black sex link by crossing a barred rock hen with a RIR rooster or new hampshire rooster. If so then that might explain the barred rock pic on the common black pullets sign.

While it's true that they could be showing a representative parent bird, that image is still not representative of what is in the bin since there isn't a snowball's chance the chicks will look like that. I just think it's poor signage. I'm not suggesting it's intentional misrepresentation, only that they should put a picture of the breeds in the bin if they're going to put up a picture at all. It does make me wonder how many people bought little black chicks from the bin expecting to get barred rocks.

I have BSL hens and they were all black as peeps. The BR's had a white spot on their head and bums. The chicks in your pics do not look at all like mine did. Sorry, but maybe you can cross those two off the list.

Actually, Mt. Healthy Hatchery has Dekalb Amberlinks as well, and Tractor Supply often gets their chicks from them. If the "dinosaur look" in the eye is what i'm thinking of (a lot of Easter Eggers have that look?)... I love that! lol
