Roslyn took a small pastry cake and nibbled on it delicately. She intently watched the swirling chickens and hoped some nice cockerel would ask her to dance soon. Roslyn grimaced remembering her mother's words "If you don't find a fine blooded cockerel at the ball then you must marry Sir Keet". Sir Keet was alright but he was nothing like the kind of husband Roslyn wanted. She sighed and finished off the little cake. Then opened her lacy fan feeling desperate. It seemed everyone already had a partner. That was when the princess spotted a regal looking cockerel with a dove grey face. Trying not to seem to obvious she slowly inched his way.

Dove glanced around the ballroom as he delicately placed his feet on the ground. He strutted to the snack table and noticed a princess on her own. "Hello, I'm Dove of the Clucking Empire. Who would you be, lovely lady?"
