This chick as pipped and looked as if it started pipping. It’s moving around but not making any progress. I can’t tell if i’m supposed to help him or not. Please help!

After pipping the chicks will rest about 12 and up to 24 hours before finally zipping. Just leave it alone.

Hey LeFleche! I followed your instructions and about the time she had been stuck in the egg for about 23 hrs, she started making alittle bit of progress, but she started bleeding and her membrane started drying out! i took action and wrapped her in a warm wet washcloth and peeled away only the shell away, and dampened a cu-tip and moistened the membrane. Then I wrapped in the washcloth and put her back in the bator. After about 15 minutes, she came into the world! Meet Granola!

When they have the bad luck to hit a blood vessel they often get kind of glued by the drying blood and need some help to break free.

Thank you! Actually I’m not sure, sorry! I got a mixed breed Rooster from someone I knew, and they didn’t tell me much about the breed. The mom is an Americana! Her is the Dad! I hope that helped!
