Sorry, it is a textural thing for me I don’t like tapioca, jello, flan, bubble tea...you get the picture.

Properly made tapioca pudding has a different texture than the garbage you can buy premade. It does not have the same texture as jello and jello can have a different texture based on the amount of water you use to make it. I haven't had flan or bubble tea, I will bow to your wisdom about those.

Here’s some pictures. Now this is before it hardened so you can imagine what a mess it would be totally hardened. And the ice cream basically all melted too

I ended up just drinking the ice cream and eating as much of the rest as I could and then just ditching most of the shell

I think if we had actual hot fudge sauce instead of melted chocolate chips it could have been dope

Okay... soooo.... it wasn’t really THAT bad but I just had grand ambitions with this one and it was a major disappointment mostly because it hardened and was impossible to eat lmao

So I took Tillamook vanilla bean ice cream (a lot ) and broke up like 4 double stuf Oreos to put on it and then cut up like half a banana too and then I put some sea salt caramel sauce on it and melted a poop ton of chocolate chips (because we don’t have any hot fudge sauce) and put that on and some more caramel sauce and all seemed good even though I went WAY overboard on the chocolate but then the chocolate hardened and was like IMPOSSIBLE to eat/get to any of the other stuff and the Oreos also got hardened into it. Also before I even made it I accidentally left the ice cream out for a while and got super soft/melty despite trying to put it back in

It’s a texture thing for me also. I’ve never liked it. However, flan is awesome! It’s like a firm pudding with a light caramel puddle around it. At least the ones I get at one of our favorite Mexican restaurant are. They are so good!

I grew up in Utah. There was so much jello. SO MUCH. And it was all terrible

And bubble tea is literally the stuff of nightmares for me; delicious tea spoiled by the addition of jumbo sized tapioca balls.

I am however comforted to hear that tapioca does not always have to be so....chewy. But I am still not inclined to try making pudding myself.
