Yes lol. There is an art to a good blacken without burning or drying it out.
Unfortunately we have the shittiest exhaust fan in the world so I usually get hubs to do it while I leave the house. Or just go in armed with wet towels and inhalers.

Whenever I cook a piece of meat correctly, my father says that "I burned it just right."
He likes his Italian sausages nice and crispy... they really do look burned, sometimes.

That sounds amazing!!! I figured it was on purpose since I know some places serve blackened fish etc. but I was kinda hoping you were another Chef Mike like me

And oh gosh!!! Our fan sucks too but thankfully isn’t too bad most of the time haha I don’t even really use it unless it’s really bad but in that case I open the doors and/or turn on the bathroom fan

Slather in Barbecue sauce, and grill.

Stuff with rosemary and lemon wedge, put same ingredients on top, bake.

Bread and deep fry the entire bird.

Smoke with sage, salt, and pepper.

Boil and add soup ingredients of your choice.

Pressure cook with beans and rice.

There are sooo many ways to make it delicious.

Nope, sorry. I am a pretty good cook even if I don't enjoy it.
Just look up some recipes and pick one. Hard to mess up a step-by-step recipe, no?
