Computers are easier to understand than people.
I dunno. I think it depends on your personal gifts. People are massively complex and I wouldn't claim to truly understand anyone, even my nearest and dearest, but for me--I prefer people (most people). People can help me understand them.

That said, I can easily see how a person of certain giftings could fall in love with the logical beauty of technology. I don't have the variety of intellect required for that, alas. 🤷‍♀️ Just haven't got it, though I very much admire you for your insight into a world that is opaque to me.

If everyone were mechanical-minded, society would be far less cohesive and quite lacking in many dimensions. I have great respect for those whose strength is social interaction.

Poor things... it's not their fault, though. I'm not planning to get them again. I have Chanteclers this year, so that I can hatch my own meat birds. For CX or other technological "miracle" breeds, you don't have to raise them that way unless you're in a hurry. You can feed them in the evenings and let them forage the rest of the day like your other poultry. It's not as efficient, not as quick, but much more humane, I think.
I know it’s not their fault and I do feel bad for them and that is why in the future I will not support the franken-chicken industry. Kinda like how some people feel about certain dog breeds, pugs as an example. I fed 2x a day and I put the food far away so they had to move. We also were going to see if we could breed our own meat birds. We have a few nice sized, broad cockerels out of a barnyard mix that we were going to experiment with. Time isn’t an issue for us, healthy birds is what we are aiming for.

Interesting.

In my work, a computer is a tool. A tool operated by educated operators. Whether or not the operator can get the tool to perform a certain task or if the task should be performed is the question. Add hardware and programming. Is it worth the cost? Is it better, cost efficient or desirable to make the computer able to complete assigned task?

Trains run on tracks that are being more computer controlled. At a point, there is no need to have an engineer (train driver) sitting there since they are just there for the ride. Problem occurs, full stop and send a fixer out.

Airplanes only have a couple of things to run into. Mainly the Earth but other airplanes also. We have drones. We have the ability to automate. The pilot is there only in case something goes wrong. Computers are programmed for steady state operations. Abnormal or upset operations are a lot more challenging to program for. We are slowly getting there as the price decreases and speed of processing increases. Lot more risk when a plane falls out of the sky and stops compared to a train stopping. Should we discuss cars?

Yes, we need talented people to program, design, install and troubleshoot.

No way!!! So many germs and diseases! And only a couple minutes total!? 😂🤣
Lots of people eat beef tartare. It's a dish made of raw ground been and seasonings. If the cow was healthy, the meat was stored and prepared correctly, and the person consuming the dish has a healthy immune system, then there shouldn't be a problem.
People do the same with raw fish sushi.
