Oh, and funny you should post this poll because just this morning I was wondering when the next Kiki non-chicken entertainment poll would be on the site because I haven't stumbled across on in awhile!

I have an encyclopedia set, a row of dictionaries—both in english and in other languages—nearly a full shelf of chicken books, some old biology textbooks, and a decent collection of books on art history and technique. Oh, and 10--15 years worth of horse magazines... though those don't really count. That's just on the nearest bookshelf. (I have 10+.) So, yes.Do other people still have bookshelves with actual books?

Points for trying.I know! It's a book written by the band Chicago right. Whats my prize?

I said this morning that most people would likely at least have a copy they could borrow to reference... she countered with the assertion that most people didn't even know what it was. Apparently, she's correct!Because I believe normal people have no clue what this book is.
I just want to see if I'm right.

Yep. Everything I learned in English classes went into the trash out back.
I tried to pay attention at the time but now forget most of it

I looked it up after answering NO because I had a hunch. When I was in College we used the APA guide instead and I do have a copy on my bookshelf at home.

a book about grammar is not exactly my idea of exciting or entertaining.

When I get home I will take a photo for you. It's probably on the same shelf as the dictionary.

I don’t have a bookshelf (yet) but I have tons of books piled on the floor in my room and in my closet. Actually, I have one little bookshelf/nightstand in the closet. My mom has a million books too so I think I inherited this trait.

I would have far more if I wasn't broke.
As for the original question, I firmly believe that Chicago is the best style guide. I actually have my copy right here, by the computer. It's the latest edition and I love it very much.
