We bred them ourselves! That little one is half Light Brahma, half Splash Australorp and the darkest of our chicks! I thought I understood chicken genetics but this one has thrown me for a loop!

I can’t even be bothered with a rooster in this flock. If I do have one and he’s a real sweet dude, I’ll raise him for a bit and give him to my MIL.
If he’s a total ass, I’ll eat him.

We’re working on getting NPIP certified so in the future we could technically send some chicks or eggs your way.
We really shouldn’t keep them but we haven’t been pushing to sell them. Even my father who wasn’t happy we had put eggs under her was excited whenever one hatched.

We had talked about keeping them last night, and seeing how they mature. I’ll be sure to let you guys know! We do have a family friend who is checking to see if he can have chickens, and I would trust this guy 100%. He buys eggs from us even when he doesn’t need them just to help support our new business. He would for sure send pictures whenever asked.
