I have a bad feeling I’m gonna have 2+ roosters. The packing peanut (buff orp?), and the little turd of an EE.
This chick needs to be in everyone’s business.
When I was spoon feeding the sick one, he was climbing all over, pecking me, pecking her, squaring up when I pushed him out of the way.

When I made a little barrier and moved him I swear he had a chick tantrum. He used all his chick brain to climb and squeeze through the barrier just to check out what was going on.
So obnoxious.

Those ducks are gonna have quite the potty mouth.. literally.

That sounds like some very boyish behavior (had to edit that first mess up sorry) coming from that little guy, but yes time will tell.

& X2 on the potty mouth. If these chicks could talk they'd have potty mouth all kinds of ways.

And yeah, I was figuring that they were pullets. Just being a worry-wart and a newbie and trying to figure all this stuff out lol! I mean, they are 13 weeks old now and hens can start laying anywhere from 16-20 weeks right? That's really not that long of time away. So logically it makes sense that some may start getting pinkish/reddish and their combs changing over. That's why I kept 2nd guessing myself so much.
But in all seriousness... Thx to you all that humored me and let me write my novel and eased any doubts I had. I do appreciate it.

I'm gonna ask if he knows if anyone has and/or is selling ducks around here locally. I did watch the cutie patootie ducklings swim first tho. Omgosh they are so cute! I'll pop back in in a bit.

Check the "farm and garden" section of craigslist. Also if you are facebook see if your state or area has a poultry buy/sell/trade page.

Just thought I'd throw in some cute pics of my solo hatchling & mommy. This babe's an f2 OE. I see some mild fluffage on those cheeks but a single comb. I sure hope this turns out to be my hen I get a nice dark green egg from but I've been noticing a very upright stance already so I'm skeptical. Anyway just a little update and quick read for anyone interested. Adopted mom and baby are both doing great! Oh and if this dies turn Out a roo I'm just going to hold on to him rather than order a favaucauna.
