➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I loved looking at old history books with military tanks and such for some odd reason (these books were always on the bottom shelves) hence the crawling around. Then I also loved the scary stories section! My favorite books as a kid were the scary stories to tell in the dark and anything from R.L. Stine like Goosebumps. So good. Plus again with the Roald Dahl. One of my favorite movies ever is still The Witches.

Oh DS- I mean da sister- loved goosebumps! She had a huge collection. I was all Science and nature or nothing! I read no fiction as a child but enjoy it a lot now.

No, I haven't done anything in the way of audio books.
If you are interested in military history at all and love an excellent and empathetic orator, this is the podcast for you. They are usually fairly long, and creating them exhausts him, but it really shows how much he loves history.

Finally caught up! Holy crap...I blink and i'm 100 posts behind!
I just finished chasing my EE rooster as he's trying to RAPE my sweet EE girl. It was terrible! I've never seen her so terrified! He was running after her like a damn flying demon. Of course, my husband stands there just staring at me LOSING MY EFFING MIND.
Poor girl. Is this normal? This is my first round of chickens so all I can think is, OH MY GOD HES TRYING TO KILL HER.
I picked her up and she buried her head in my arm. When I thought all had settled, I put her down and he went after her again, as she went screaming into the coop. I delivered her to her rapist. I feel awful.

She says it's a series of three. She's got the other two titled already and is working on #2. She cracks me up. She has always written but until this one it's always about horses or some animal she personifies but this whole boy crazy thing is new. I laughed so hard!
I was all ready for the reveal that the sassy girl was Ben's twin sister or something...

Poor girl! No idea if that's normal. I don't have a roo. Surely they're just figuring it out!

Yeah her ending was a little lackluster, but she's 8 so I cut her a little slack. I'm happy with deciding that boys aren't worth it and focus on the grades. :clap
Well, she does have a couple chapters (or was it sequels in mind)... maybe she'll surprise you with a twin!

Cow and buffalo are tough, stringy meats. Whitetail is also. Axis, oryx or elk is a world apart. I've heard different stories on moose. Gator tastes like squid and is usually fried. The Louisiana calamari is rubber bands. The San Francisco calamari is a dream. Never had anything like it before. Drenched in butter.

Anything can taste great. It is up to the chef. Except squirrel head gumbo...

Gater doesn't taste like squid to me. It taste like a weird mixture of chicken and fish, like eating a fishstick and a chicken nugget at the same time. It really confuses the heck out of my taste buds. I can't tell whether I like it or not.

I agree with you on the gator 100%. But I know I love wild caught gator. Farm raised is disgusting and fatty.

& @RUNuts is right about calamari here tho. I've been with people when they order it and I always wonder why. It's like hard chewy fried rubber. It's just terrible.
