➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I have not. Work is crazy. Garden is crazy. August is crazy.
My bro and his family are in from Colorado and going to be here for the next week. He covets the sourdough English muffins I make, so gotta get on those. Family day up at the Brinnon cabin on the Hood Canal. Lots of kayaking and swimming, etc to be had. Have a family reunion to plan for (that should be a wild time) this coming weekend, have a trip to the Oregon coast in Yachats with my cousins next week, then it's time to hit the family peach orchard over on the snake river for endless canning and peach drying. Plus tons of fresh nectarines and peaches right off the tree. I stay in a little shack that used to be a tool shed. It's amazing and I love it. Then, it's crazy canning and freezing time for my own little farm in September! Things be getting nuts this time of year.
I've saved photos though, from dear @BantyChooks and I am logging ideas for when I may have more time. As it is now, I'm lucky to sit down and have an hour or two to wind down before I fall asleep.

Kayaking, peach picking, canning... Can I go?

Do you like the Raveonettes?

I've got to look them up. They sound familiar. DD1 is watching her horrible Monday night show that makes my head hurt, so I'm blasting my earbuds to block it out.
This is one of my favorites;

:yesss:One of my fav's too! :wee:clap:highfive:

I suspect that at least part of this story is BS. I would easily buy all of it, except the mouse trap in the nesting box. How could you do that without trapping a hen? You'd have to be out there after dark to put it in & go back out well before dawn....
Who would be able to be stealing eggs during the night? I don't leave eggs that a hen is not sitting on.

@KikisGirls
Confession time, until you posted that YouTube video, I totally thought that candlebox was a poultry convention. Where you can get different items for hatching eggs. And that a candlebox was a special candler that lit the eggs up while in the incubator so you wouldn't have to take them out.:oops:
That is actually a really cool idea! An incubator with LED's in the base so you could flip a switch and candle all the eggs at once.
