Can a broody break another broody?
I've got these silly OEGBs that insist on brooding together. My silkie went broody. A couple of days later the OEGBs went broody too. For about a week all was good. Then they decided to climb in on top of the silkie. After a couple of days the poor silkie was relegated to on top of the other 2. She's been out and about for the last 2 days. Did they do it or did the silkie's biological clock kick in?

@Tesumph i can see why you are worried but hopefully, probably, maybe it's just a weird stage. The EE coloring looks like a lot like partridge female, to me, except the red on the wings which is pretty suspicious but time will tell. Try to enjoy them no matter what; I can't wait to see how they turn out. I read the reply that warm weather makes combs develop faster, which I did not know, so now I'm crossing my fingers that my OE that I've had pegged as a roo this whole time may still be a pullet. He's been outside since day one. :fl

My Barred Rock had huge combs and wattles even as a chick and had a lot of attitude, at 2 weeks old she stood straight up and eyed me, she was even pretty white, anyone would have sworn she was a cockerel but nope. Female. I know cause she lays eggs and had never crowed. :lau she still has massive combs and wattles.

NO! I have to give her all of my girls if the chipmunk EE is not a cockerel! :barnie

I deleted and changed what I said. I had started to reply forever ago, went back to look at his pic more closely and got side tracked. Forgot I had ever started posting and never tweaked my answer like I wanted to before I replied. It was just sitting in my reply field from like and hour ago. I'm trying to be optimistic but it does look like a boy.

We had the back wall of our livingroom mirrored, when I was a teenager, (the entire wall), except Daddy glued them so tightly together that they looked like one big mirror. Made the livingroom look really big. It was really cool to stand in front of to see what you looked like when you were going out as well. Good memories. :love
