Loltake notes next time.
Much better, thanks for asking! I pretty much slept for 3-4 days straight and didn’t see my chicks at all in that time. This morning I felt great and finally got to go see them, which sparked the whole gender panic. They grew SO much while I was hibernating! How are you feeling today Tes? Better I hope.
Me three!Me too!
I wish I could ditch all my spastic birds. The Marans would be the first to go. I think one of them is starting an egg-eating thing.Me three!
Like I said, even if that whackjob turns out to be a pullet, I’m very likely getting rid of it anyway. I cannot stand spastic birds in my flock.

Yes! They are so loud, especially before, during, and after laying an egg.Ditto on the Marans. Your experience is so similar to mine. Is Your's really loud and vocal? I just don't want to waste my time looking for another dark brown layer that will probably only lay medium shades or spend a fortune on one I know
will lay dark but be just as obnoxious and stupid so I just deal with her. Mine was pecking at eggs and eggs disappeared from under her while she was broody but here lately I haven't had an issue. Don't know why she stopped but at least she's not doing that anymore.
I put up with it in my previous large flock, but these are/will be treated like pets. I had a Minorca that would throw herself into the wire and physically harm herself and others by crashing into things when I looked her direction. Ugh. Not worth the stress.I wish I could ditch all my spastic birds. The Marans would be the first to go. I didn’t use to tell people but I have gotten so fed up with it.Especially on color genetics because I spend hours studying and then people go and spew nonsense.
