➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

:yesss:Candled again and saw movement in all six eggs. If they all hatch I’m going to have too many ducks! The air cells were so scrambled when I got them I thought for sure none would develop so I ordered 4 lings from ideal.

The boy dog has issues. WAY too high prey drive. I put sheets of plywood between the duck pen and the dog yard. The boy is very dejected.

You better use that plywood and start building another pen for the ducks!

He is guarding them.

Two squares a day, stuffed kong every night before bed and a treat to go to their room. I can assure you the boy is not starving!

If he's anything like all the dogs I've ever known, he will give you the puppy dog eyes and/or pace around the house/scrounge for scraps on floor or counter, etc. And make you THINK he is starving though :p

But then again the only dogs I've really known are/were retrievers or retriever mixes LOL Golden Retriever (barely remember him), Yellow Lab (grew up with and loved him), current Black Lab/Great Pyrenees mix, and my brother and his fiancé's Lab/Great Pyrenees/Boxer/unknown mix, and of course my friend's two Golden Retrievers and my brother's friend's English Cream Golden who is ESPECIALLY food and people obsessed lmao

Pugs are very food motivated! My pugs had conned many an unsuspecting fool to feeding them twice! We've wised up with Wasabi and now text each other when we don't know if someone fed him.

I wish it were that simple. It's in my spare room that no one stays in that it always happens in. My kids go in there once in a while bc I keep some of their toys in there, but I'll turn it off on The way back from putting them to bed in the next room over. Then I'll go to my living room or kitchen or go do something else and when I go back by on the way to my bedroom to go to sleep I'll see the light back on shining from under the door. I only had two dogs in the house until recently and I keep all doors closed bc I don't let them go in any of the bedrooms so I really have no explanation. I always just tell myself I must've just thought about turning it off or maybe the kids snuck out and went In There for something (but my house is small and they have never come out of their room and snuck up on me despite numerous efforts, they're just not quiet lol, it's really just impossible to do in my house) any way I just go on about my business but it really creeps me out when I think about it. That's the only room it happens in too!
I’m still betting on a sleepwalker.
