➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I've been working on getting permits for everything since March. The damn county is putting up all kinds of roadblocks and taking their sweet time.

When I finally get the building permit (hopefully this week) I've got contractors on hold to come in and build a grade beam on pile foundation (3' crawl space). They are also going to build up my drive (currently a hay field) so that the movers can come back, load it onto the truck again, get it up a hill & slide it onto the foundation.

ETA: once the foundation is in, it needs 2 weeks to cure before the house can go on it.
Good for you! How exciting. We lived in a movable house (no idea what they’re called) for a while that was put on a foundation. Very cute and cozy. You couldn’t even tell it was a manufactured home, in fact we didn’t realize until much later after moving in lol.
And yea, 3’ was a good choice!

Can’t remember if I already said happy birthday or not. If not, happy birthday!

Did that on River Road outside of Baton Rouge in a triumph spitfire going 90 through the curves when I came face to face with a full grown bull. Talk about slam on the brakes. :lau:lau:gig (It wasn't funny at the time )

Very small sports car for you youngsters!!!
I use to have an MGB, I know exactly what you mean...almost ran into a black Angus bull, one moon-less night. Oh !!!! (Use whatever explicative here). :lau

This is an actual house, not a mobile. Excellent, true sized fir framing.

Oh how wonderful, hope you really enjoy it. I love older houses, especially cottages. Our's is from 1940, but had been renovated and added on to like 4 times before we bought it. It's still a great fun house.
We are going to put an addition on to house utilities and give us a dining area.
