➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I’m going to wait for a few more eggs and set soon. I’ve been collecting for a while so a lot are likely too old to be viable. 2 weeks is probably too old?
What do you do with all your buttons?
I have hatched older eggs, even up to 2 weeks. Just expect less of them to develop than a group of fresher eggs.

I don't have a ton of button quail, and there aren't that many people in my area selling them. I've been trying to sell them but have not hatched many because most of my birds are related, or at least from the same source.

I think I hatched 7-8 the very first time and most were silver, and only two were boys (one silver). Second hatch only a silver female made it, I was so mad. I ordered 24+ eggs from this new source, so hopefully I get some new colors besides silver, and more boys.

Do you know how fast that place ships? I found the whole 8Fr tube feeding kit available on Amazon for $8 something. And it can be here by tomorrow.
But for that I have to order in the next 90 minutes.
8 french is really small, it's what I use to tube freshly hatched chicks. I think for a one pounder you should use a 14 french.

Amazon has always been the fastest and most reliable as far as shipping goes, in my experience.
That's what I figured.
I think I will order from them despite the price. At the very least I will have it on hand sooner.

I did order the Kaytee formula, though. I'm expecting that by Friday.
