➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Don't know if it was the storm or my hurricane PTSD, but they were crowing their heads off Tuesday morning. Had hardly crowed at all before. DH and I had to go to work, so couldn't stay outside and try to keep them calm and was afraid a**wipe neighbor would report us while we were at work and DD would have to deal with it alone. Last time she reported me it was Good Friday (years ago), I thought that was a "nice" touch and spoke volumes for what kind of person she is. Sadly it was easier to cull them than to leave DD to deal with the problem. I have teased about them making good chicken and dumplings, but I am not sure I could eat it. They were the best 3 of the 6 cockerels and I was still hoping to rehome them. At least they had a nice if short life.
Sorry the circumstances made you take the hard decision.:hugs

The white ones are stunning!
I keep dirt in there for them to lay in.
I put slightly wet dirt in today and I thought for sure my little white girls was going to start looking nasty but she didn't.

Street Food is one of the two white ones with the color on their back.
Not sure I will ever figure out which one though.
One's back color is lighter than the other though.
You need Brest feathers. When they are all white it’s impossible until they are old enough for crowing or laying/vent sexing.
Of the pics you posted of the browns I’m pretty sure this one is male:

And I’m unsure of this one but looks like some rust colour coming in:

Yes these two have what I consider rust chests.
