I used to think (like up until this year) that all EE were chipmunks.
I had never seen a plain/single color one before.

There was some from Privett at our TSC that weren’t chipmunk!

Well they must've done something new. One of our feed stores uses privett and the chicks all looked like clones of each other. I asked if they had other colors and they told me that's all they'd ever gotten. Now cackles look like a skittles bag and I love them! That's where mine are from.

Your new chicks could still be EE. Just bc they might not have pea comb or have beard or dark legs. First of all some hatcheries are using legbars to create EE now. EE is just a bird with a blue egg gene. they could've started their flock with ameraucana crosses and more recently introduced legbar. Also with EE crossed back to each other you start to see some of those less dominant traits show back up like the lack of beard or single straight comb. I don't know that they're EE's but I wouldn't rule them out as EE just bc they don't have the common EE traits.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. I cannot find a chick that has the pretty brown wings on them. I know I have seen people ask about chicks like that on here but I can't remember what it was. So I'm going thru the various birds that Hoovers sells and looking at all the chicks. I'm just not seeing it. It's only for my own curiosity. The other chicks that I own all have single combs. I've never seen a pea comb, except in brief passing/reading of an article or question someone asked on here. You could ask me to describe it and I wouldn't be able to. So I'm just learning and we'll see in time how the chicks feather out and what they look like. Until then, I'll probably keep scanning thru pictures lol.

I really liked Sherlock...enough to watch them all at least twice...some three times.

Tessie got one from Ideal too and I think Nutty's came from Ideal too.

Our cockerel was chipmunk patterned from Ideal. Our pullet was dark.
