➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

So in regards to your bator dilemma @KikisGirls maybe you should put it to a vote. I think if you build a new bator with parts from the ghetto bator and things you find in your home it's still in the spirit of the experiment. Try not to buy anything else. Try and salvage things from the ghetto bator. You mentioned a light socket, I recommend pulling one out of a lamp you already have (if you don't mind sacrificing a lamp, usually this is easy to do without destroying the lamp, but not always).

In terms of weather, ours has been bipolar, but that is spring in the mountains. Warm and spring like with sun and 50*F temps, then last night 8 inches of snow and I'm going snowboarding shortly. Anything goes this time of year.

And I've never heard boxed mac and cheese called KD, but I admittedly love the vile processed stuff.

So are you saying he crows EXACTLY 3 times after you tell him to be quiet?
I have 3 rooties in the house and they're talent is starting to crow everytime we get on the phone. My husband is so embarrassed. :p (Rooties in the house) Mr Flash is the worst.

My entire flock, including guineas come running if I clap. That's my call. They know they are getting eggs when I clap.

That's cool having mythical names of gods/goddesses!! I had those for my goldfish. Here the roosters get a Mr. name. I would die in Cali. I seriously would. Although this winter I have been cold. Maybe old age is creeping in and I'll like warm weather for the old bones. :fl
Yup he does is excatly 3 times. I have a tendency to end up with either really smart animals or really dumb ones hell I had a dog called bubba ( parents put him down last year he got really sick plus old age) dog did not play at all even when other dogs tried to get him to play but he was smart or dumb enough to climb half way up a tree to scare the hell out of a cat.

Well, Good Morning to the great white north!

Great idea! I'll bring all my Russian Bear* Dogs for new homes.
*rushes in backyard and sits on bare butt*. We have a lot of this breed.

I hate having to explain jokes. :he
Russian Bear Dogs ==> "Rushin' bare dogs" = Rushing (to the backyard to sit on their) Bare (butts) dogs. Means I live with a bunch of worthless, good for nothing lawn ornaments.

Nonsense. The birds like snow.

...kind of... sort of... well, not really, I guess.

Nonsense. No one really likes snow. Y'all tolerate it for 10 months of the year.

You have to admit they make pretty good target practise.

Hurrumph! They fly too slow. Shoot them from the hip, cowboy style!

Texas had 61°F on the thermometer this fine morning. Yes, I wore my winter coat. It was downright chilly while feeding the chickens. Forecast says we will get near 79°F today. Getting there. It'll be back in the 90's in no time!:celebrate

Zucchini are blooming already. The rain was good. Tomatoes are almost a foot tall now. The sunflowers are 4 inches, but starting to grow FAST. Really shot out of the ground. No sign of the peas. May have to plant them a 3rd time. Hope the radishes make before they wilt and die.

Had an uh-oh. The chicks in the tractor had a plastic box on it's side to protect them from the rain. It was full of water this morning after all the rain that kept Kiki awake early this morning. They were drying off, but got damp. All were running around and eating, so good signs. I'll have to watch them for the chills.

Hey, that's what us South Texans say too! 50°F, we put goosedowns on!:lau
Haha! I get that.I used to live in houston, and when I moved here, I was freaked out when I would see kids running around in shorts and ts in the 40 degree weather. I was there snuggled up in 15 layers and big snow boots :lau
two years later, im out in shorts and ts too!
The hottest it gets here is 80 degrees, for about a week, and everyone thinks they are going to die of a heat stroke on those days!(but to be fair, nobody has air conditioning:eek:)
