Cali people most definately do not know what cold is.
I heard some cali folks complaining about freezing in 50°F weather while I was working outside in -20°F.

Prom is awesome, but mine was small town prom so not the level of craziness I hear it gets in other places. Plus it's been like 18 years since I went to prom so I can imagine things have changed a lot, or maybe not?
