➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I have really missed y'all, didn't realize how long I had been away. ( I am 2,000 pages behind  ). How is everyone doing? I see we have new friends. Welcome from New Orleans y'all!!! :frow
That's what happens when you decide to go to work!

Are you ready to quit yet?

Hey all. I wanted to share something that happened the other day that I thought was just the cutest thing. I was filling up the ducks waterer and in the course of doing so, I was making a muddy mess that they were loving. For you duck owners.... Have you ever seen a duck enjoying a mud puddle so much that they had happy feet? That is the only way that I can describe it. Think of a toddler trying to walk in a puddle trying to make it splash. I'm watching the ducks noodle around in the mud from where I empty the old muddle water and Forrest (one of my Pekin) would stand up straight and stomp his feet really fast, waddling back and forth. He'd stop and go back to noodling around. Then splash in the mud again. It was the most adorable thing I'd ever seen! It was happy feet ya'll! They are so funny! :love

How many hens do you have?
A 50 pound bag last me close to a month with 7 hens.

I have 7 hens.

Buy the newer one.

Thanks, that's what I did. I wanted to ask if they had any newer ones but decided not to.

I think you are supposed to use it within 6 months of manufacture. But sooner is better.

Thank you! I thought I saw someone say you should try to use it within like 6 or 8 weeks or something cause the nutrients start to degrade and it's freshest but idk if that's true.

I think 6 months is the max, and I could be wrong....
@rjohns39 How long after milling does feed start to significantly degrade?

Yeah, I'm sure it's probably perfectly safe but supposedly fresher is better or something and some people don't buy any older than like 6 or 8 weeks. I mean, it makes sense. I wouldn't want to eat old food either. But then again most human food is probably wayyyy older than that. Processed food anyway. Will be interesting to find an exact amount though.
