Update on my meat box heroes. We ended up culling the one with the sour crop a couple of weeks ago. Pitiful and skinny as it was, it still was over a pound dressed. My husband insisted it was too small for people food, or maybe he was just grossed out after pulling out the crop
, so we cooked and deboned it for the dogs.
All remaining 22 are thriving and, at 7.5 weeks old, are getting big. We will probably butcher the 4 or 5 largest in another week. A few are still agile enough to fly to the outdoor roosts.
