Last spring we had 5 Mississippi kites circling the neighborhood. I like to think they were hunting squirrels. they called and cirlcled and circled and called for about a week. Amazing. Beautiful. Astounding. Raptors are amazing creatures.

The Kites are grey birds with a distinctive call.

Down at the Armand Bayou Nature Reserve, there are nesting pairs of Ospreys.

Falconry is an interesting sport.

Hey we went there for a cub scout outing. I had no idea that water moved that fast there. Maybe it was fast moving because if recent rain, I'm not sure but I was surprised.

Probably not the best idea, but I think it should be fine.

I don't want to make anyone sick so I need to be sure it's ok or not.

I bought a small frozen turkey to practice on. Can I thaw it to cut it up and refreeze it?

You can, but recommend not too. Generally, the birds are frozen. Sent to the store and thawed, then we refreeze it for storage. These birds have already been frozen twice to thrice. At some point, it has to stop.
