➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I agree. I don't think those heat lamps give them the opportunity for their little bodies to adjust to environmental temps, which I think slows down their growing. I don't have any scientific data that proves that but from my limited experience that I have had so far, it seems to work out that way. And I don't like how hot they get. Our heat plate doesn't use much in the way of electricity either so that is another nice thing. It works for us.

Yeah I agree!! We used a heating pad (thankfully I saw it right before I got them, I had already bought a red heat bulb to use the traditional method) but they were inside for 3 weeks (was supposed to only be a day LOL and actually they were originally supposed to be entirely in the garage but I was worried about them lol) and anyway, it worked well but we made a lot of mistakes. For one, they quickly outgrew their space and I never really adjusted it or made it bigger (no way to anyway), they weren’t horribly overcrowded, still had room, but should have moved them to garage sooner. Anyway, the other thing is that my mom kept thinking they were cold and kept turning the heat on really high in the bathroom!! Plus they had the heating pad. So that’s how the one ended up with pasty butt at 6 days :( I kept telling her NOT to but even without chickens in the house now, she just always cranks the heat up really high and doesn’t turn it off lol annoying but well meaning I suppose. But they didn’t feather out very well until I moved them into the garage at 3 weeks and then they were happier and healthier and then they moved outside at 7 weeks old.

My only concern with the Lakeshore Egger is that it states that it can lay blue, green or BROWN eggs. I think that is a possibility with any EE right? I hope that is not my luck. I have enough brown egg layers lol.

Aw that stinks! Hopefully they will lay blue! Lol

For the record, one of my EEs lays a large (according to the scale, they look medium to me cause they’re smaller than most of the other hens eggs lol), kind of greenish olivey type egg and my other EE, when she lays, lays a MASSIVE gorgeous light blue egg. Often double yolkers

LOL not very helpful! What store?

Agreed. I had mine in for 3 weeks and it was way too long lol

I think they added them last year.
HEB is the name of the store.
You won't have one there.
I think we very seen them at Kroger too, you may have those up there but I'm not sure.

Darn :( I really want to try some lol

X2 Those are bomb. Terra brand veggie chips are good too but pricey.

I was iffy on those ones. They were alright to me and expensive

I like the Mediterranean flavor and the the sweet potatoes. But I also have a tendency to eat the whole bag at once and then be sad when I remember how much it cost

The kind Kiki bought are really good and lots of places have them, even some Walmarts.

I think I got the sweets mix once and the straight sweet potato ones and regular blue potatoes.

And I may need to look for those!

I find the good ones at the grocery outlet for $3 a tub sometimes! I load up when I see them. Then I end up eating them instead of dinner.

Wow thats cheap!

$3? That is a steal! :highfive:

X2

I paid 8 bucks for this tub!
Only a crazy person would pay for tubS of these.
I can't afford to eat the whole tub in one day.
