➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Gator used to act weird when you took his collar off too and wanted you to put it back on. He wasn’t really anxious and didn’t really care but he loved to sniff it and check it out and acted like he wanted you to put his “bling” back on
I've never collared my dogs. This is mainly because Lou has a needle dobie head and slips any collar off and loses it. I gave up after several lost collars. I also find them to get in the way of the high leash when walking.

He's really a nice looking dog. His snout isn't as short as I'm used to seeing and he's not wall eyed. Plus... eyebrows. I love eyebrows on a dog.
His nose is longer than his dad and grandpa but not too long for a boxer.

We mostly used a choke collar with him cause he was so big and he was really strong and powerful when he was younger. We did use a martingale or harnesses sometimes too but I was kinda scared to use anything else so we somehow kept coming back to the choke collar but it was probably oversized/too big anyway and not really tight. We didn’t really take him on many walks though the last few years for various reasons so we never worried about losing a collar or anything. DB & FSIL use harnesses for walks and only use collars for outside in case they get lose. They got nice wide reflective ones with the dog’s name and their phone number on them so they don’t have to have the tags on. They wear those on the walk too but we use the harnesses. Libby has a tiny head but fairly thick neck so she used to slip collars too and Gator could too. They both would plant and put head down and then also sometimes back up or just stand still while you tried to tug them in the right direction and they could slip it. We quickly learned that though which is why Gator was mostly in choker and Libby is in harness now.

Do they have issues teaching their dogs to heel with a harness? I found them pretty problematic, at least with the traditional harness. It kinda just promoted the "sled dog" mentality... PULL!!!!
