➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Have you now? I need a number. Like a real city or what you consider a city? Sooo, a small crowd of people around a burn barrel?
Lost Springs, WY had a population of 4 during the 2010 census. Arminto, WY has a population of 5. Moneta, WY has a population of 10. Hiland, WY claims a population of 10. Bill, WY has a population of 11. Van Tassell, WY has a population of 15.

Banty has probably fed more goats than these small "cities".

Hmm, these sound more like towns than cities. They can't possibly be considered cities, right?
Maybe all of them combined around a burn barrel would count.

I learned something because of this. Smallest in population to largest: hamlet, village, town, city. I think I'd enjoy a hamlet, though it makes me think of a ham melt sandwich, which I would also enjoy.

Good Grief! I'm sorry I haven't been online to see this sooner. I have built a stretcher and can get mastiffs in the back seat of my truck with the seats folded up. I'll keep reading to see if you have had resolution hopefully. Otherwise I will be happy to come help you get him to a DR!
:hugs You are so kind Dawn.

You should!! They are supposed to work really well!! And I mean, a lot of guide dog and service dog organizations use them so they must be pretty good.

Sounds like you are making good progress!! Gator used to counter surf but eventually grew out of it but we also mostly stopped leaving food on the counter. I don’t really like doing that anyway. But it is definitely annoying if you are not used to it. And oh boy that’s a bit of a challenge for sure. You think she is doing it on purpose/aggressively or just like plays rough/is rude playing? Libby can be dominant with other dogs too but I think part of it is she just plays rough and is very rude playing. I don’t think she does it to be aggressive but idk. She loves other dogs but is just plain rude.

You will get there!! Sounds like you are making good progress. I need to more focus training with Frank and Libby. Libby is good at eye contact especially on walks cause that’s basically how I taught her to heel but ever since Frank it is a challenge. If they are playing, neither of them listens for anything or acknowledges I’m there. They have gotten better about acknowledging me though and not playing 24/7 now that he’s been home a while but it’s still not the best. Frank is good about listening and comes when called if he’s not tangled up in play and they both listen and/or sit for food but they really don’t otherwise. Trying to use less food and/or consequences/enforcing rules with Libby, Frank doesn’t know better
She plays rude and constantly tries to dominate.
My MIL’s border collie was over yesterday and they had an actual scuffle. Dog was standing with her front paw’s on MIL’s lap and Theia was standing next to them. I guess she interpreted it as “I’m higher than you and trying to dominate you” and suddenly they were both snarling and at each other’s throats. Very embarrassing to say the least but MIL brushed it off. Sigh. No one was hurt and they got along fine for the rest of the visit.
They always come with their baggage, don't they? Almost always with the food thievery. Cricket is like a little coyote. Always trying to sneak things off of low counters, though he knows he is not allowed in the kitchen and at least abides by those rules.
Have you tried a pinch collar with her? I had a real head case of a doberman several years ago with the worst leash manners ever. One walk with the pinch, and he improved dramatically. Only had to use it a couple times. He's the only dog I've ever needed that with. Otherwise, I just go with the short, high leash. Works like a charm for the most part, but she's a big dog! Everyone has their methods. I'm sure you'll find the way the works best for you!
Nope, haven’t really tried anything yet, but I will definitely be looking into it. I just haven’t had the time to put into leash training yet.. or energy. Been spread a little thin recently. :/
They've arrived! Edie (black and tan doeling), Vera (fawn doeling), and John Zoidberg (brown and white wether). These babies were NOT bottle fed so they are fairly skittish, Edie being the friendliest.
John and Vera are siblings, and Edie is out of my favorite doe. I'm so excited --- (three, Banty, three) I've waited five years for this. View attachment 1688916 View attachment 1688917 View attachment 1688919 View attachment 1688920 View attachment 1688921
Oh geez they are precious. I love the names lmao.

Oh wow that’s scary!! But you also don’t know what she’s been through in her time before you, you know? She is still settling in and possibly had it rough or maybe that triggered some memory or something in her. I am sure things will settle down as she gets more comfortable and settles in. Or at least I would hope so. But I would definitely keep up with socialization and training to prevent any issues before they become big ones. But I think she just needs time.
