I would give it a bit more time but I am over cautious about maintaining humidity

I am candling my egg babies and putting them into lockdown this evening and I am already trying to decide how late so need to stay up to ensure constant humidity.
Our house is really dry with the wpodstove going so maintaining 30-35% has been a challenge let alone trying to get it up to and maintaining 65-76%:barnie

I use a big roaster pan on the coal furnace to add humidity. I have to fill it every couple of days. But it raises the humidity a good 10%.

So @KikisGirls do you think you may actually get to sleep tonight?
Maybe.
I've been reading non stop today and I feel like I have figured a few more things out...enough so I don't have to worry as much.

I bet @RUNuts has a fire place.
Bond do you?
@007Sean

In truth, 2. Of course the romantic one in the bathroom hasn't been lit other than candles. Do candles count? Seemed like a good idea when we bought the house. HAA HAA, joke's on me!

What does one use for heat in Texas?

For the occasional ice storm, electric heat from the AC/heat unit assuming the power stays on. The house will smell terrible for 2 days until the dust burns off. It will run for a week, maybe, then be down for another year. My last office didn't have heat. We used those portable heaters under the desk. Of course, some of the ladies used them all year round because they THOUGHT they were cold. :barnie

I have 2 kettles on each of the wood stoves but we are in a big old farmhouse so it's drafty too! I spend most of the winter fighting humidity. Looking forward to the spring rains.

See how it doesn't say pheasant? Syrmaticus ellioti, just a lovely bird.
Yeah, that's the scientific name....as a degreed Marine Biologist, I use scientific names, much to the distain of the laymen. No, offense, just how I view the world, through a scientific mind.

10% humidity. I've heard of such. We will get down to 30% on the cold day in the winter. It is so nice for a change.
