➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

It's freezing here this morning.
I was going to put my chicks outside tomorrow at one week old but I think it will be kill them. I'm going to have to wait a couple more days.
I can't believe how slow they are at getting feathers. I guess I'm used to fast growing quail.
Yeah, yesterday and today it has been cold. I miss last Saturday’s 80 degree weather :hit

Wild birds are so interesting.
I love crows too! Where we used to live I had a flock that would come to my call for the deli leftovers I brought from work. I really didn't have to call bc they would anticipate and watch for my arrival. Arriving home one day when I had neglected to bring food for a few days, a crow flew slowly over my head from behind, close enough that I felt him comb his toes thru my hair! :D I went inside and got them something from my fridge. They have an uncanny ability to train me!:lau

Now we have verified that a horned owl is nesting across the street. I spotted the shape of the owl on the nest - the ear tufts give the appearance of a cat. I have been hearing it for weeks. I love the owls but not so keen that the nest overlooks my pigeon loft.
When my dad was a kid, he and some other troublemakers climbed up and stole an baby out of a crows nest (awful, I know). A few months later, my dad asked the kid whatever happened to it and the kid yelled, "hey bird!"... then the crow glides around the corner and perches on his shoulder. The kid taught him tricks and got him to steal things for him. They are crazy smart birds!

Anybody know what kind of birds these are??

The picture is blurry so is kind of difficult to tell. Maybe an Osprey?
Look at the pic from this article and tell me what you think.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osprey

ETA:
Are those power lines near or somewhat near a body of water? I guess they are fish eaters. If not then that may not be what kind of bird it is. It looks like a large bird. I automatically thought some kind of hawk or eagle or large bird like that. I don't know a whole lot about wild birds but just did a quick google search. :caf Would be neat to find out. I find birds fascinating.

Yes, I think you are right! I could not for the life of me figure out what these were, but now I'm about 95% certain that this is what they are! They have a nest near my house but I don't think I've ever seen these kinds before. Thanks!

Well I did!! 25 is old to me lol

I'm not old!:old

I know you’re not! You’re still young and hip! But you’re still older than me lol

Snap out of it missy!

Okay you’re young and hip but then you go and say things like that.... :lau

Btw, don’t worry, cows are expensive and smelly and need a barn and I don’t actually want them lol

Oh boy. It’s been a while since someone has called me Dorothy.

Fun fact, in my A&P course I was called by Kansas instead of my real name because no one could remember it. I thought it was funny though.

Oh wow

Wow that’s cool. Reminds me of this. :lau

I first saw the purple one but I think the longer FB one must be the original and maybe someone stole the story? But tbh the shorter one is way funnier. :lau

And then I found this one while trying to find the one I had seen and this is really cool tbh.
