They're FUN to color! My kids were so excited when they put a BC Marans egg in purple and it came out almost black with lighter speckles. We called it the night sky egg. Most of them end up with some patterning (green egg in red dye looked like Mars) because if you haven't scrubbed the natural coating off, the saturation will be uneven. It doesn't really show until they dry so we were surprised by the end result.I'll let you know.
We have never tried to color darker eggs before.
