How frustrating.Good question.
I keep saying a week and a half... but then "something comes up" and the contractor can't come... this time it's yet another family emergency (3rd one since January).

I've never heard of brabanters, but they look amazing! Are they bantams? Dual purpose?Oh, no! Poor guy. That crazy fur of his can probably retain moisture like crazy too, eh?
Cricket is great! He's an idiot. Still not all that interested in people, but he loves us, so I don't really care. He learned really quickly that the birds were not there for his entertainment. He now ignores them. It's wonderful.

Honestly, though, I've been really excited about the bird additions this year. The Cream Brabanters are wicked awesome, and I added a pair of American Buff goslings. I baby them, and they love me. They are total doofs. View attachment 1797225 View attachment 1797226 View attachment 1797227 View attachment 1797228 View attachment 1797230 View attachment 1797231
They are not dual purpose, just standard fowl, but they sure are my favorites. They had them at Wilco, of all places. Supposed to be decent layers in addition to being badass.I've never heard of brabanters, but they look amazing! Are they bantams? Dual purpose?
OH NO. Does it require surgery? That's terrible. I'm sorry to hear that. Freaking contractors!I got a new tractor last week, but the excitement didn't last....
Our contractor tossed an extension cord on the floor, CJ tripped on it and now has a horizontal crack in the patella.
Had an appointment with orthopedics today. Thankfully no surgery. Just keep it straight for another 4 weeks or so.OH NO. Does it require surgery? That's terrible. I'm sorry to hear that. Freaking contractors!
Sheesh. How frustrating. Glad to hear it's "but a flesh wound", though.Had an appointment with orthopedics today. Thankfully no surgery. Just keep it straight for another 4 weeks or so.
Yeah. At 69, healing will take a bit longer, but hopefully with physio it will get back to almost normal.Sheesh. How frustrating. Glad to hear it's "but a flesh wound", though.
Bummer. I hope she makes a full recovery. Otherwise, we will need to start a pool for a bionic knee!Yeah. At 69, healing will take a bit longer, but hopefully with physio it will get back to almost normal.
As long as she doesn't start tearing phone books in half... she is more than welcome to all of the legwork thoughBummer. I hope she makes a full recovery. Otherwise, we will need to start a pool for a bionic knee!
