No, the fake one is a barred pullet and she is hard to tell apart from the other barred pullets. I have to have them close to each other for size comparison.

Out of the 13 girls (haven't verified this since last time), 5 are mostly black with some brown bars, 3 are red with some darker grey/black happening and 5 are black & white barred. Interesting mix in the Barnyard Surprises.

Cockerel is crowing in the tractor, but when I feed and let them out to see who is dancing with death, they are all ghostly quiet. 10 cockerels are jousting and fluffing neck feathers. Quite the show! I highly recommend this. Imagine your 2 horse boys times 5. 2 will be jousting and a 3rd busts in, then a 4th. Then scatter. The layers aren't sure what do to yet. They are running them around the yard. Most tolerate them.

Ideally, when they get fat. Target was 16 weeks, but these are overachievers at 9.5 weeks of age.

They are being nicer than the quail.

I caught up on some sleep last night, just woke up a little over 20 minutes ago at noon to sleep around around 2, woke up around 8:30, passed back out until noon or maybe I woke up one more time but I don’t think so lmaooo I moved to the softer side of the bed with softer pillows so I slept way better. Didn’t realize the other side was soft until this morning lol should have slept there all night but I slept alright. Hotel beds/dark hotel rooms are so easy to sleep late in though lol although I didn’t think I’d sleep quite that late other side of the bed must been a little too comfortable or I must have been tired and catching up on sleep lol
