➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

No problem. :)

Do you think these fawns are all from the same mother?
They are twins. The most common deer births other than a first time mother is twins. Yes they are both hers. I just took a photo of her buck that she had two years ago. I see her last year's buck and his twin sister regularly.

Hey, sorry I didn’t answer, fell asleep LOL

Anyway, that does sound exhausting!! I was exhausted yesterday too and still somewhat am today but not as bad. But I had a wedding shower yesterday and I’m not used to that much socializing and dressing nice and stuff LOL

Who knew just sitting and talking (or most often not talking) for hours could be so exhausting? :lau

And aw it does sound like he is just molting then! Especially if he has new feathers growing in. I don’t think he would if they were being plucked or something.

And awww that is hilarious and adorable!!

My chicks are starting to find their voices as well LOL

And aw hope they start laying where they are supposed to!!!

Hi!!!!

Can’t remember if we’ve “met” or not?

But hi anyways!

That new job sounds awesome and your animals all sound great!

My heart is broken! I can't believe you don't remember me from my random 1 year old comments. Kidding, kidding. I remember your name tho and I'm glad to be back and glad to see you're still here!

I had a Sweetgrass hen sitting on a nest and thought the eggs were due to hatch Thursday. When I checked on her tonight she was gone and there were at least 11 empty egg shells. I candled the remaining eggs and found one alive and internally pipped and one maybe. I gave them both to the Blue Slate hen that should be hatching tomorrow.

I accidentally found the missing hen sitting out in the open and not hiding like I thought she would be. I got the brooder ready in a hurry and took time out to snap a picture of a 2 year old buck in the driveway. I grabbed a bucket and went back to the Sweetgrass hen. When I got close enough she stood up and there was a whole passel of little Sweetgrass poults under her. They completely filled the bottom of the bucket I had. There are now 14 Sweetgrass poults in the brooder. The Blue Slate hen should hatch number 15 tomorrow.

Sorry, no pictures but they really looked cute in their green bucket.

Aww, hi Jewels! Long time no see! Congrats on being a respiratory therapist!:celebrate That sounds like an incredible job, I’m so happy for you.
Glad to hear all your animals are annoying and healthy, as it should be. :D Good to have you back.

Thanks Tes! I've missed you! Didn't do my backup, Like I claimed I would. Are you now a vet? If so congrats and I only wish I lived close enough to you to bring my fur, fin and feather babies to such as passionate person.

Reclusive hermit? I don't buy it. Hermits don't socialize. You've been very sociable.
Yea well, turns out being a herm—uh, homebody, isn’t good for maintaining relationships. I’m working on it. :p

Awww, you’re too sweet Jewels.
But nope, I’m still a decent ways off from a doctorate. I just got accepted into the Biomedical science department at A&M, so in less than two years I will have my bachelors in biomedical/animal science. After that is 4 years of vet school.

I’m 21 and the average admittance age to vet school is 24, so I feel on par (or slightly ahead) for the course.
