➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

After days and days of going in and out of the nest boxes, today, Buttercup (Lakeshore Egger) finally laid an egg. :clap A sweet little green pullet egg. So that is making me wonder, who was laying the Easter eggs that I was finding on the ground? Could it be the same chicken? I don't think so. The Easter eggs are bigger and a different color. Sunny is laying a blueish colored egg. So it must be my other EE, TigerLily. My deductive reasoning is astounding, I know. :yesss:
The 2 eggs next to each other.

I saw some egg goo remnants that Sunny was gobbling up when I went to clean the coop this morning. I tried checking TigerLily's vent area (as much as she would let me) and it looked completely clean so Idk if it is from her or not. My other suspect is my Welsummer, Hazel. Hers was clean as well. I put out a 2nd bowl of oyster shell in the covered run part of the young pullets coop by their food because obviously someone is not getting what she is needing. The other container of oyster shell is under the big girls coop by their food. Hopefully that will help and everyone can get what they need. I stopped in TSC today. They got in webbies. :love Oh if only the babies that I have already were younger.... I might have been more tempted to grab a couple. I was watching them for so long an associate came up to me and asked if I was wanting to buy some. LOL! I told him I was tempted but no. I was just trying to figure out the various breeds. And so we chatted. He didn't have a clue (surprise I know). He told me if this other woman was around that she would know. Well, when I finally went to check out, she happened to be up at the register talking with the woman at checkout. So I asked her what this specific duck was. She said, that is the only one that I don't know. :barnie Didn't help at all lol. I have been on Hoover's website and I am just not sure about a couple of them. Any guesses?
Yellow duck with a little (what I call) dirty coloring around head and a black bill. I don't know about feet.

Or this one is the one that really had us stumped.

Is that one a Silver Appleyard maybe? I'm just not used to TSC getting those in. It is the only one like it in the group. Normally they just get the normal Rouens, Mallards, Khaki Campbell, Pekin, Cayuga, and Swedishes etc. Sometimes you'll get a Buff, Golden Layer or White Layer (which is very much like a Pekin) and Runners. The Rouens, Khaki and Pekin are the main ones they get in tho in their "assortment" they buy. I so wanted to buy it just to see how it would turn out but that is a really bad reason to do so. Not to mention not possible since they require a minimum. :smack
What about Saxony?

I picked cherries this morning. The pie is just about cool enough to cut. i also made one batch of cherry jam. I still have one more tree to pick.

The doe and fawns were back yesterday evening.

Great photos!

I was more concerned about catching 14 newly hatched turkeys than I was about taking a picture of the pie. I really wish I could have gotten a photo of the little beauties while they were in the bucket.
Put them back in the bucket!

They are just getting their quacks in. I think I will be more certain in couple more weeks or so. I think I have at least 2 males. :barnie Just by looking at them and how they are built and developing. And I am definitely hearing some raspy voices coming from the group. I definitely have at least 1 female. The other 2 I am unsure of.
May be one is showing his drake curled tail feathers in that second photo.
