Or Wyandotte...Not set. Just making an early short list and ruling out or prioritizing as I learn. I do really like the look of the delawares though and so they were sort of at the top for me.
I hard boil my older eggs and then crush them shells and all to feed back to my chickens. I have also scrambled them without the shell to feed back to the birds. We literally just got the stamper 2 days ago. Unfortunately, due to my laziness, I have thrown out more eggs than I should have. Most were duck eggs but still. Most of the time we were able to keep tract well but we've gone through spurts where they just built up and I felt more at ease throwing them out than keeping. I've only float tested a couple of times (it's that laziness thing that I mentioned above). And now that we are going to have more layers I am trying to be better and keep track better. And also if I sell any, which is becoming more frequent but still on a small scale, I want to be sure that I am giving them the freshest eggs. I'm just trying to be more diligent and productive.
A little disappointed. A 77 year old friend came by today and brought his son who is training to be a duck judge. While here, he was looking over my duck flock pointing out the different breeds to his dad.
I asked him about my Saxony named Morgan. He said "He has great type, form and shape to the Standard, but his coloring is not correct. Still a nice drake."

They get more out of the eggs if they are cooked.I scrambled a bunch of mine today and gave them to them but I did give them the shells. Usually I put the shells in with the eggs and cook them together or I bake the shells but today I just crushed them up raw and put them in the pans ha they loved them though. The new chicks loved having eggs for the first time haha

Hey @Tesumph I think I finally found something I can use to make a new tank for TadIt is narrower than I want but DH says he can expand out the back a bit. And it is much longer and taller than her current 40 gallon tank. Gonna go check it out on Friday.
