I have a chicken who seems to be going blind in one eye. She’s a Chocolate Orpington, about 1 year old

How does she react when you move your finger toward her eye? Does she startle easily? Does she ever spin in circles? Have you shined a flashlight in her eye to see how her pupil reacts?

It looks like a corneal abrasion or an eye injury. Could you see a vet? At the least I would flush her eye with saline or an eye wash such as Bausch and Lomb Eye Relief Eye Wash, and apply a dot of Terramycin eye ointment to her eye 2-3 times a day. Jedds.com sells Terramycin without a prescription, but you may use plain Neosporin ointment or Polysporin eye drops.

I have put my finger close to her eye and she doesn’t react, and she walks fine, just a bit clumsy at times.
