➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I hated general chem so I’m hoping organic isn’t as bad.

Depends on your teacher.

Fond test memories of looking at a molecule with 20 functional groups and one reactant. What gets reacted and what isn't affected???

The fun one was 3 reactants in succession.

Then there was P-chem... Gibbs Free Energy equation can be derived for everything.

Ugh. I admit that I have a phobia of maggots.
Not my fault... childhood trauma. It’s a gross story.
All of the skull cleaning I’ve done has been with ants, beetles, or just boiling water.

Owning a bearded dragon has helped, actually. Her staple is soldier fly larva, hah!
Tad's main food is roaches. And they are the one bug I adamantly refuse to have anything to do with. I don't mind crickets or any of the wormy creatures but roaches are a hard pass. So DH is in charge of caring for them and feeding them to Tad. :sick

Oh man, she probably wants them live too huh?
I bet I could get over it with time but as of right now, that’s a big no on the maggots.
Yup. Alive and kicking.
It helps because black soldier fly larva is a lot less “shiny” and wet than other maggots, if you know what I mean. They also don’t bite or smell.

Bleh. I hate roaches too. Are they dubias?
We give her dubia roaches when we can, but they’re hard to find and expensive. They’re actually kind of nice though, they’re fat and slow. More like giant roly polys than roaches.

Ok, I'm FINALLY all caught up. :woot

I'll chat more later once I get back from running an errand. Have a good one! :frow

:woot

Oh man. It’s never a good sign when your professor isn’t here on the first day and they send a sub. :th

Oh boy! Hopefully they’re back soon!

How's your face?

:lau idk why but I found the straightforwardness of this so funny.... straight to the point. :lau

It’s what we all want to know though! :lau

Hope your face is better Prairie! :hugs

I’ve ordered from this site before for my chickens, got the chicken mix one, but maybe they have something for IV or Tad?

Yes dubias. :sick They are really expensive locally so we order them online from Dubi Deli. They are super hardy and easy to keep alive so we just buy a bunch at a time and then keep them in a little plastic tank with feeder food, hydration crystals, and some upright pieces of egg carton. Tad loves them and they are a way better than crickets. Hated keeping crickets. Less ick factor but loud and messy. And they bite. With roaches it is just the creepy rustling noises they make that grosses me out for some reason. The things we do for our lizards, right?

Where do you get your fly larvae?
