➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

My son went and took his ASVAB yesterday and did his medical screening today. He did well on the test but not quite high enough to auto-qualify for the program that he was hoping for. There is another test that he has to take that has yet to be scheduled. He picked a different job that he would be happy in just in case and depending on how he does on that 2nd test will determine which route he chooses. He did his promissory swearing in today. The official one won't be until before he leaves for boot camp. I do get to keep him around a little longer tho, which I am happy about. My baby won't ship out until April. My baby is going to be a Navyman. :celebrate:ya:clap:hit:th <---basically me right now lol. All the emotions.
Congratulations! That's wonderful!

Whoever invented concerts should be strung up. Especially ones held in the middle of other events. Navigating through a crowd of people while music is blaring so loud you can hear every note change in your chest? Not on my fun list.
Don't be silly. Concerts are a blast.

You would have hated Warped Tour then. Multiple stages, maze of band merch tents/vendors/whatever all over, outside in a parking lot/outdoor venue (though one stage was in the amphitheater ha) in the middle of summer, swarms of people, especially when one band ended and they started heading to the next, sometimes you could barely get through, etc. :lau

But I loved it :lau

Well, not the hordes of people, not cause I was anxious, just cause it was annoying ha, and def not the sweat and sunburn and the fact that it was literally all day but then again it was all part of the experience and I don’t think I’d trade that in :lau

Anyway, I love concerts. Practically addicted. :lau

BUT.

I will say that I do actually get pretty anxious at them lately but I don’t think it’s agoraphobia or because of the crowds or anything like that. That part doesn’t bother me.

My thing is I get really anxious and worried about what people will think and also am too polite to push past people for a certain spot so sometimes will get stuck in the back or stuck in one spot or won’t get my camera out or won’t itch my leg or take my coat off or whatever it is I want to do cause I’m terrified everyone’s watching me or will think I’m weird or whatever. Which is ridiculous but I freeze. But usually I try to get over it and force myself to move ha

But I also get really anxious talking to bands too and for a while I was pretty bad even buying merch cause they’d look busy or were talking to people and I didn’t want to bug them. So I’d sit there on my phone (anxious habit. Tend to pull it out when I’m nervous which probably makes me look more weird or awkward but whoops) and then eventually they’d be packing up and it’d be too late. But thankfully I’ve mostly gotten over that. That one is weird because I didn’t used to be like that. I’ve always been anxious and had troubles going up to them but I eventually would, the thing where I waited so long they were packing up was new ha but mostly over it now but I am definitely more anxious at shows than I used to be but I think that’s only because I’ve just been more anxious in general.

But I also have troubles actually talking to the bands and stuff and do the same phone tactic and waiting thing with them too. And barely say more than a few years and get super nervous and awkward EVEN for ones that I have seen many many times and known for years and am basically friends with now. I am still insanely awkward and anxious. Which is really freaking weird because as you all have seen, I never stop talking online :lau but in person I don’t. I even had one say that once. He’s like “you talk so much online/tweet us so much but in person you barely say anything!” LOL he is the nicest guy in the world so didn’t mean it in a bad way at all, just thought it was odd/interesting :lau me too, dude, me too. :lau

I think it’s the environment. Shows are so dark and loud and everyone’s usually busy that it’s hard to talk. I’m sure if we were at lunch/dinner or hanging out in any other setting I would be better.

Although maybe not because I have troubles with strangers/new friends elsewhere too.

Idk.

Shows are weird too though cause you only really see them once a year or if you’re lucky a few times a year so don’t really know them enough haha

But some of them I’ve known since they were playing tiny little venues and watched them grow so there’s that connection too.

But still barely talk and often don’t say things I want to ha

But I’m also not very outgoing in general. I’ve watched people just run up to people or scream for them or whatever but I could never do that :lau

Yeah I literally love concerts haha

I do get suuuuuuupeeeeeeerrrrrr anxious talking to the bands though and also sometimes moving where I want to in the crowd/worrying what people are thinking but once the music starts I’m fine lol and they’re sooo much fun. I think I might even be addicted to concerts :lau

I will charge you one grandpa dog to come hand feed you.
Maybe a short term loan.
A week.
By then you’ll be sick of the old man exhaust fumes. From the front and back.
How old is he? My old golden lived to be 16. We never took him to the vet once. He was the best dog.
He’s 12. He hasn’t been to the vet much in his years, only for vaccines and this one time when a gopher bit his eyebrow and his head swelled up like a water balloon.

It was about time that he got his leg checked out, I hate watching him limp.
The teeth happened by accident. My vet has a killer dental plan program and my mom is a sucker for good deals.

Oh boy killer fumes huh? :lau

And oh wow that sounds like an interesting story! LOL

And hey, a deal is a deal. :lau

I love them. I don't go to many now as I simply don't have time, but I went to more than I can even remember before I turned 30 and became officially lame.
Favorites are Radiohead, Arcade Fire, The Cave Singers, and Chris Cornell. So many others that I'm sure I'm not remembering.
