If I got a snake, I’d personally want a ball python with a good personality, or a tree boa or something for eye candy. I don’t mind “look don’t touch” pets, as long as I know what I’m getting into.Carpet shark. The other ideas sound awesome too though. What kind of snakes are you interested in?
We are thinking we will get another lizard next year. DH doesn’t care for snakes and I don’t have much interest in amphibians....
Current front runner is a Uromastyx but we are also considering another beardie or a female leopard gecko or two.
Uromastyx are awesome and well worth googling. I really want one![]()

I’d love a uromastyx, I already have all the materials to set up a tank for one. I do wonder if we’ve reached the max limit of sassy lizards in this house though.
I’d also love a whole colony of cresties.. they’re so freaking cute, I love them so much. Or an army of blue-tailed skinks.
Maybe another African fat tail, I really enjoyed my old girl before she passed.
Have you seen my leopard gecko before?

Very true!! Definitely glad I Googled them!! They seem awesome!! Are they harder to care for than the other species? You should definitely get one!
I WANT TO SEE THE GECKO!
Also, there is no such thing as too many sassy lizards. More = better. And I stand by that statement even though today some naughty little lizard picked all the blueberries out of her salad like a kid picking the marshmallows out of the cereal
Their care isn’t very difficult if you get their tank set up properly. They requiring extremely high heat (120 degrees in their basking spot, 90 in the cooler areas) and lots of hiding spots. They also like to dig burrows. Once you get a really good tank setup though they are very hardy little creatures. They are actually vegetarians. They eat veggies and seeds. Some people even use birdseed as the substrate for their tank which I think sounds cool.
So cute right?! I love their round little faces. Hopefully we can get one next yearOMG those uromastyx are so cool! They look like little dinosaurs with that spiny tail! LOL And such cool colors! OMG.![]()
She then went and crashed out in her cave for the rest of the day to sleep off what I can only imagine is a massive blueberry hangover.Me too!! I need to see the gecko!!
OMG that’s hilarious!!!
Thank you!! They sound like very interesting and cool animals.![]()
