➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I kind of regret not keeping him, because he would've been perfect for the data collection I'm trying to run on aggressive roosters right now, but at the same time... I have enough mouths to feed, y'know.

Makes perfect sense to me! Especially if he was vicious and dangerous and could have hurt those mouths haha

"Sabre chicken" :lau :lau :lau

Only the thin skinned (or immune suppressed and she had at least 3 medical problems) yes understood. Unfortunate indeed but like i have a tendency to pass out from time to time. One of my nightmares is for this to happen in a coop. It has happened in the yard two or three times. I get warning but im hard headed. Maybe i shouldnt be so careless.

Maybe my wyandottes are more docile than the australorp but even the hona only takes a time or two before they learn thats a part of me :p
Hey, same here!
I once passed out when I was working on the chicken run next to the brooder. I can’t help imagining dying via a horde chicks pecking your eyeballs out.

I usually manage to get inside before going lights out, but I'm sure my chickens would devour me gleefully if I didn't.

Yay, another young reader! What's he reading?

I started taking the boys to storytime at age 2 and they've been library regulars ever since. I consider that a huge win.

Mine are currently reading Lisa Maxwell's The Last Magician at the same time so they can discuss. I get asked some peculiar questions depending on what they're reading and I think I want to read this book myself. I'm also super happy they're branching out from Riordan. I have nothing against the guy but it's been all Riordan for a while now.

They start school the 1st of August around here so we're already a month into freshman year. No assigned book yet because they aren't in an English class this semester. I find it very strange that they have math all year but language arts is only half. Of course, they only have FOUR classes in their day so a lot of subjects are smooshed together. And they have something called "seminar" that's a complete hodge-podge. It's vastly different from what I experienced.
He is reading but not because he wants to.
He is not a fan yet but I keep hoping that will change.

I read the whole thing a few nights ago so I could talk to him about it.
It's a very cute book.

I have friends with toddlers. Also, yes. He acted like it.

Ah okay. That makes sense then. And oh boy!! I wonder how that works if you eat a possessed rooster :lau

Kids are cute!! Although I’m not sure I’d want them full time. They’re only cute in limited doses and when you get to hand them back LOL

Oh boy that sounds scary!

I usually manage to get inside before going lights out, but I'm sure my chickens would devour me gleefully if I didn't.

They’re the closest living relative to the dinosaurs and act like little velociraptors so I imagine they would have no problem eating any food they could get! :lau

Aw I’m sure he’ll get there! He just needs to find the right books haha what’s he interested in? There’s bound to be books about something he likes! Sports? Mystery? Maybe a non fiction book about some topic he likes?

And aw that sounds like a cute book! I think I would have loved that as a kid :lau

I never said kids aren’t cute. :caf

Yeah I know you didn’t haha initially I guess I was trying to say they’re cute so you should have some but then it turned into me realizing I don’t think I want them permanently either :lau
We probably can’t have kids. I’m more interested in pursuing my career right now anyway.
I anticipate lots of nieces and nephews, so I’m all good.

Aw I’m sorry. :( :hugs

And that makes sense!! I figured you were! You’re still really young too anyway ha

And that’s good! I’m sure they’ll probably be tons of those. :D
