➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Thank you sir!
Google says there is specific “wipe-on” polyurethane. There’s also oil and water based??
I think I need to watch more videos.. lol.

Too bad all their flesh is pink.
Imagine the rainbow feast!
I know Minwax makes a wipe on poly. It will be clearly titled as such. And it comes in a different shape of container than their other products so you should have no trouble finding it.

ETA; I think oil based is supposed to be more durable, but it can darken (“amber”) over time, so water based might be better for an indoor piece, especially if you are doing a relatively light color. Minwax has both oil based and water based wipe on poly.

Do you think an open garage is good enough?

I think so, but hopefully you can just get the stuff Sam recommended cause that sounds awesome.

Yes ma’am. It’s nice.
I won’t flood the thread with pics (that’s what Bones is for) but I’ll take a before and after.

So lucky! I am jealous lol. The piece I bought is good, but it is wood veneer rather than solid wood. That is one of the reasons I am painting it rather than than re-staining it.

And yes, I expect millions of pictures :cool:

@Tesumph make sure you buy some tack cloth. It is sticky and will help you remove all the dust after sanding so you don’t end up with chunks under your stain.

*Decided to edit this and put the screenshots of the list/locations/event pages/whatever in a spoiler cause I realized 3 full size images was kind of obnoxious lol and I know no one wants to read it anyway except maybe our couple reptile fans ;)

The first one though is right before the wedding, it’s next weekend (this weekend?), and I probably can’t get anything till after the wedding at least but it’s really close.... hmmmm....

But I also know I need a job first and clean up the house and blah blah blah so I’ll be good and refrain I suppose lol

But I could at least go look and talk to owners and learn.....

No ma'am. Dont do it. It is too hard to go lookit those Hundreds of critters who so obviously Need good homes without bringing them to your home and the prices are Unbelievable. Also theres the whole feeling babad for asking questions like a potential customer without buying anything. Jus wait until your ready and have a cage ready for when you get home. Bare cage lined with new paper towels. They usually have leopard geckos at ours for like 10$ so i am dead serious Dont even go. Jus wait. One day youll be able to get them and go then and do them the justice they deserve. Trust me. Ive spent hundreds of dollars on those things. The only other hobby i ever had that rivals the money i spend in poultry.
