Get you a set of plastic scrapers too and lots of rags. Scrapers will make quick work of removing the paint. Dont wipe the paint off with the rags if you can cause rag pressure has a tendency to push the paint into the grain like when you use rags to seal it.
Thank you Uncle Sam! I will look for the orange stuff and plastic scrapers!
“Seal it” as in wiping the stain off with rags, right? Or do I apply polyurethane with rags too?
Is that a stupid question?
Is it real solid wood?
Yes ma’am. It’s nice.
I won’t flood the thread with pics (that’s what Bones is for) but I’ll take a before and after.

dont quote me in this but my sister refinishes reclaimed wood and i think she uses rags to apply polyurethane and stuff. And sands between coats with steel wool. I think sometimes she thins it to get it to seep into the wood better

This was my plan:
Apply stripper with crappy brush, wait, scrape off with dull scraper. Clean excess goop with steel wool and paint thinner. Sand lightly with orbital sander, clean again, apply stain, wipe off with rag, then apply sealant.

Does that cover it all??

Seems like a good plan of attack

lots of pictures would be good because I have a table that's been sitting here for I don't know a couple of years that I've wanted to strip and stain or paint, but I keep putting it off because....
